47th Commemoration of Martial Law

Marking the 47th commemoration of Martial Law, various protest groups joined mass mobilization with the theme, "Laban Kabataan, Laban Bayan, Inhustisya at Diktadura Wakasan" at Quirino Grandstand, last September 20.

Aside from raps on ‘dictatorship’, protesters also called for the need to safeguard democracy and raised issues of attacks on the fourth state, school militarization, red-tagging of activists and labor front concerns.

National democratic organizations such as Anakbayan, Kabataan Party List, Bayan Muna, Liga ng Kabataang Propagandista, National Union of the Philippines, Anakpawis, sector groups, and student leaders from University of the Philippines (UP) and Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) were present in the mob.
