In order to raise relief funds for those affected by the crisis in Marawi, The Entrepreneurship Club (E-Club) organized a thrive fair consisting of numerous concessionaires along the Science Building walkway and pavilion in Far Eastern University (FEU), from August 14 – 16, 2017.
Arianne Abiera, the treasurer of E-Club and a 4th Year Business Management student, was the head-proponent manager of the 3-day event.
According to Abiera, due to the severe events with Marawi, they wanted to do all that they could in order to lend a helping hand. “Every year, may thrive fair kami. So naisip namin, why not gawin naman [nating] for a cause ‘yung thrive fair? And ayun, naisip namin ‘yung taMARAWI (Every year, we conduct a thrive fair. So we asked ourselves, why not incorporate a greater cause behind our back-to-school thrive? And so we came up with taMARAWI),” Abiera shared.
Abiera also said that twenty percent of the profit from the tent rental fee of the different concessionaires will be collected and donated to FEU’s Marawi drive. Apart from helping those in need in Marawi, Abiera stated that the event was also beneficial to the members and partners of E-Club.
“Natutulungan namin ‘yung mga entrepreneurs na ma-sell ‘yung products nila, like ‘yung ibang FEU students na nagbebenta at nag-aaply sa’min. Tapos, sila pa ‘yung nagbebenta dito, kami rin, sine-sell namin ‘yung products namin (We are able to help these entrepreneurs with selling their products, like the FEU students who participated and partnered with us. They are the ones who are selling here; we also sell our own products).”
The thrive was sponsored by Kojie.san Philippines, Max's Restaurant, Krispy Kreme (Philippines), Yellow Cab Pizza Co. and Uber.
