Far Eastern University (FEU) Commission on Elections (COMELEC) named 133 qualified students to run for different offices in the upcoming University-wide elections earlier today, April 1.
Kadiwa Student Coalition’s Lawrence Aidan Cunanan and Isanliyab Servant Leaders’ Union’s Christmer Ordanes were presented as Presidential candidates for the FEU Central Student Organization bout.
Moreover, newly-accredited political party Tanglawtala has filed their candidacy for the upcoming elections under Nursing Society (NurSoc), proclaiming Davonn Ashley Asuncion as running president and Faith Rebolledo as vice president.
FEU COMELEC Chairman Wayne Uyseco also announced that Biological Sciences Society and Nursing Society had the most students running with 14 qualified candidates each.
Indicated in this year’s Omnibus Election Code, bonafide FEU students with adequate academic units enrolled for at least two semesters, and at least a 2.25 QPA are qualified for candidacy.
They must also not incur any disciplinary case and a non-readmission status.
The aspirants should also have not resigned, got impeached, or been away-without-leave during their membership in any prior organizations.
Candidates were also required to present two certifications of attendance to any seminars or programs held by the Office of Student Development.
