The Far Eastern University (FEU) Guides welcomes Halloween amid pandemic with a virtual transition of its annual flagship event—Creepiyu which will commence from October 26 to 30.
Deviating from the conventional way of conducting the event, this week-long program will occur via Zoom and Facebook live stream which will feature several activities.
Among the anticipated highlights are: mystery solving podcast, creepy make-up webinar, creepy art exhibit, horror movie nights, and ‘Creepylikula'.
Originally designed as a campus night tour, the organization met with struggles upon bringing the event into a different platform with its entire arrangement operated online.
“We weren't sure how we could come up with ways to make the participants nervous and frightened. So, for this event, we really tried to come up with something that could at least entice [students] and fit the setting that we're in right now,” FEU Guides President Alissa Lukban shared.
Lukban also revealed that the webinar will be about prosthetics and will feature ‘horror’ stories submitted by students in the podcast.
She also confirmed to FEU Advocate that they will be opening their door for interested non-FEU students to join the activities.
The FEU Guides under the FEU Center for the Arts formed partnerships with the FEU Film Society, United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxiliary (UAPSA) - FEU Chapter, and FEU Circle Art and Design Magazine for Creepiyu V.
Apart from scaring students, the event seeks to educate participants regarding the University’s background and promote its history through the much-awaited Creepiyu.
‘Creepiyu V Goes Virtual’ will be its fifth installment, but the first to be launched in a virtual setup as schools are still restrained due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
