Far Eastern University Careers and Placement Office (FEU CAPO) will be opening Online Recruitment Exclusive for Tamaraws 2021 (ORE Tams) on August 20, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
For ORE’s second virtual run, CAPO partnered with the education technology provider Prosple which gives the University a landing page and system application to use during the fair.
Unlike the typical conventional job recruitments, the participants will be able to interact with potential employers through video calls, Q&A sessions, webinars, and live presentations. An online booth will also be provided where students can send their resumes to the company and employer of their choice.
In an interview with FEU Advocate, CAPO Director Ma. Carmencita Suva-Alfonso revealed that 30 booths will be available, with over 28 local and multinational companies in the Philippines.
“This year, we have over about 9,000 job vacancies, combining all the participating companies. So, we are really hoping it will be a very big turnout,” Alfonso shared.
As part of their holistic approach, students who wish to continue their graduate studies may also apply to graduate programs offered by Kyoto University and FEU Manila.
“CAPO exists to guide our students in their life design. By life design, it does not necessarily mean career or employment right away. Kaya nga sa job fair na ito may booth for academe. (That is why in this job fair there is also a booth for academe),” said Alfonso.
With this, Kyoto University will be offering graduate school scholarships while FEU will be open for graduate school programs and teacher certificate programs.
ORE benchmarked virtual job fair
CAPO first launched ORE last January 27, 2021 which catered to graduates from Batch 2019-2020 and Batch 2020-2021 (December graduates).
“In fact, we were invited to speak before a lot of different schools because they benchmarked us. What we are using [Prosple], the platform is from Australia, so a lot of Australian Universities, like [the] University of Sydney, are also using the same platform,” Alfonso furthered.
Alfonso also explained how the applicants will be able to utilize the platform that they will provide.
“Kapag pumasok ka sa exhibitor’s room, para ka na rin pumunta sa booth nila physically and then may nakaabang doon na makakausap, depende rin sa oras. (Clicking the exhibitor’s room is the same as going to their booth physically, there will be person to accommodate you but it will depend on the schedule as well).”
Though the number of participating companies lessened from 40-60 companies to just 28 due to the pandemic, CAPO assures that the opportunities are just the same and they will not stop providing avenues for FEU students.
Currently, CAPO offers webinars led by professionals in different industries, FEU eResume, and job interview simulations that will help undergraduate students in their career path.
ORE Tams 2021 opened their pre-registration form last July 24.
