Far Eastern University (FEU) programs Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics, Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and Bachelor of Arts in International Studies was awarded an ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) certification.
FEU strengthened its delivery of quality higher education after four additional degree programs were granted international certifications by the AUN-QA. This brings the University’s total to 12 certified programs.
The four programs exhibited strength in the course learning outcomes’ proper alignment with FEU’s mission and vision, along with the student-centered learning paradigm.
The recognition is a result of a 5-day assessment conducted virtually, including the live streaming of the University and program-level facilities. Further information crucial to the assessment’s success includes exhibits, evidence, interviews, and a Self-Assessment Report (SAR).
In an online interview with FEU Advocate, Academic Quality Assurance (AQA) Director Aisa Arlos shared that the 12 certified programs reflect the quality of education offered by the University to its stakeholders.
“This also reflects the commitment of the university to continuously improve its programs by subjecting it to external reputable audit bodies which provide us constructive and insightful suggestions and findings that we can use as [a] basis [for] improvements,” she added.
Additionally, the University excelled in its seamless shift from face-to-face to online classes, as well as the availability of well-equipped teaching and learning facilities, which include laboratories and classrooms.
Currently, FEU is taking steps for the assessment of six more programs. Under the supervision of the AQA office, each program will undergo a 5-month writing workshop in preparation for the SAR.
Slated for 2022 and 2023 AUN-QA assessments are programs in BS Hotel and Restaurant Management, BS Tourism Management, B Fine Arts, BA Political Science, BA Language, and Literature Studies, and MA Psychology.
AUN-QA network is established as an international assessment body for higher education in Southeast Asia, comprising 140 member institutions. FEU is one of only 19 member institutions in the Philippines.
