Another talent has committed to Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws, as former Letran Squire standout Joshua Ramirez chose to join the Morayta side to be his new home after a stellar high school stint in Colegio de San Juan de Letran (CSJL).
As reported by Tiebreaker Times on Wednesday, FEU head coach Olsen Racela recognized that Ramirez would have an “immediate impact on their program.”
It can be noted that the six-foot-four winger earlier committed to staying put in the Muralla-based squad. Sources confirmed then that he de-committed to Letran and moved to De La Salle University (DLSU) Green Archers back in February.
The Letran product de-committed anew and decided to take his talents to Racela-mentored team, as DLSU has already stacked their lineup with recruits.
Ramirez will still be eligible to play for the Tamaraws in the upcoming University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) season 83 as a true rookie, considering that he didn’t enroll for the Green Archers.
20-year-old Ramirez also became part of Batang Gilas pool that participated in the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Under-18 Asian Championship back in 2018.
The blue-chip recruit averaged 13.1 points, 5.4 boards, and 2.1 assists during his stint with the Squires in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) season 95 juniors basketball tournament.
Ramirez now joins Ximone Sandagon from Technology Institute of the Philippines (TIP) and Kevin Guibao from University of San Jose-Recoletos—as Tamaraws’ key recruit during this UAAP off-season.
