Far Eastern University’s (FEU) 91st Founding Anniversary celebration culminated with the traditional ‘One Concierto Piyu’ held at the FEU Grandstand and Quadrangle last February 8.
Original Pilipino Music (OPM) bands and performers, Silent Sanctuary, I Belong to the Zoo, Abra, This Band, and Callalily serenaded and hyped the crowd with their hit songs for this year's concierto.
Together with the lineup is an FEU Bachelor of Arts in Communication student Earl Generao who debuted his first concierto performance with his songs Pahingi ng Oras and Katabi.
Meanwhile, injuries were reported during the concert as a result of a big crowd.
According to Red Cross Incident Commander Mary Cabuslay, five minor injuries were recorded which included asthma, laceration and dizziness.
“‘Yung hilo, dahil sa dami ng tao tsaka sa init. Tapos doon sa pasiyente namin, ‘di sila nakakain ng prior. ‘Yung mga kinain nila kanina pang hapon, so kailangan talaga makakain ka ng heavy (Dizziness [was the most common case], because of the huge crowd and heat. And then, most of our patients were not able to take their meals prior [the event]. The meal they have consumed were only from this afternoon, so attendees [of One Concierto Piyu] should really eat heavy meals),” Cabuslay said.
Cabuslay also stated that there are greater number of students who attended this year compared to last year so “they deployed four teams” who patrolled around the campus for immediate aid and the rest of the team was stationed in front of the Arts Building.
To top off the concert, a fireworks display lit the evening sky while students sang to the FEU hymn.
The event was organized by FEU Central Student Organization (FEUCSO), in partnership with the Student Development (SDev) and Communication Society (COMMSOC).
