Filipinos gather to welcome Pope Francis on his arrival in the Philippines last night, January 15, at Villamor Airbase that was followed by a motorcade to Apostolic Nunciature (Vatican Embassy) along Taft Avenue.
Today, January 16, a welcoming ceremony with courtesy visit to the Philippine President Benigno Aquino III was held at Malacañan Palace.
After the Pope's speech at the presidential palace, a motorcade to Manila Cathedral followed for a Holy Mass with bishops, priests, and other religious men and women.
At 5:30 in the afternoon, the Pope will proceed to Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena in Pasay City to meet with Filipino families.
