Far Eastern University (FEU) Tams FX (TFX) Dota 2 officially set foot in the franchise team Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Esports Bakbakan: Dota 2! Tournament Press Conference via PBA Esports Facebook Live last November 16.

The Morayta-based squad finally secured their slot to play for the PBA DOTA 2 league along with the other franchise teams of the tournament. 

In an online interview with FEU Advocate, Team Captain Jacob Bautista (TFX Metronome) shared his gratitude to the university and their support ahead of the big tournament. 

“I can say po na the team was happy na nakapunta kami in a tournament na puro tier 2 teams nandoon, while carrying ‘yung name ng org and school. Masaya rin kami na nare-recognize din ‘yung efforts namin… It made the team feel na lahat ng ginawa nilang pag-manage ng time para makapaglaro lang with the team [ay] worth it. Lahat ng ginagawa namin worth it pala (I can say that the team was happy that we went to a tournament where there were only tier 2 teams, while carrying the name of the organization and school. We are also happy that our efforts are being recognized... It made the team feel that everything they did to manage their time just to be able to play with the team was worth it. Everything we did was actually worth it),” he said. 

The green-and-gold competitor also mentioned that their preparations were lessened due to complications in their balance of academics and tournaments.

Instead of allocating enough time for preparations, the team captain pointed out that each player’s academic responsibilities are still first in-line in their priorities despite the big tournament ahead. 

After losing against TNT Tropang Giga last November 21, Tams FX DOTA 2 is set to compete in a bounce-back match on November 28 via PBA Esports Facebook live.
