Far Eastern University (FEU) Wellness and Recreation Program (WRP) will implement a new policy for Students with Additional Needs (SwANs) to attend three WRP sessions per week announced via WRP on Canvas last April 2.
Students may attend a maximum of two sessions per day aside from their enrolled schedule.
SwANs include students with prohibitive medical conditions, persons with disabilities (PWD), students with on-the-job training (OJT), student-athletes, and working students.
Priority for the sessions will be given to PWDs and those with medical conditions.
As a requirement, students with prohibitive medical conditions must submit a medical certificate to WRP for verification and validation by the University Health Services.
Moreover, Tamaraws with OJT and student-athletes will be allowed for walk-ins but with an endorsement from their respective department or institute.
Working students must also submit their certificate of employment and work schedule to WRP.
Additionally, WRP specialists will refer SwANs to other schedules or activities once the room capacity is exceeded.
The department will also offer more special activities with additional credits such as ‘Financial Fitness Forum 2024’ in collaboration with the Institute of Accountancy and Finance on April 13, ‘The Green and Gold Challenge’ on April 18, and ‘The Spotlight’ on April 29.
FEU Advocate reached out to the WRP Office for further clarification, but did not get a response.
