A total of 50 Far Eastern University (FEU) graduating students were awarded with Latin honors during the Academic Excellence Recognition Ceremony at the FEU Mini Auditorium on July 1.
Topping the list, a total of 12 students were awarded as magna cum laude. The number of awardees per institute are: five from Institute of Accounts, Business and Finance (IABF)-Makati, three from Institute of Arts and Sciences (IAS), two from IABF-Manila, and two from Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (ITHM).
Likewise, 38 students received the cum laude title: 16 from IAS, 10 from IABF-Manila, 6 from ITHM, and 2 from Institute of Education (IE), IARFA, and IABF-Makati respectively.
Leading the honorees’ response, Bachelor of Science in Architecture cum laude, Nelson Estoce, ‘encouraged’ fellow awardees to endure and be patient. He finished his degree after eight years.
Meanwhile, FEU alumnus keynote speaker, Dr. Jeffrey Mora, stated during his speech that the awardees should learn to excel beyond academics and find a way to be of service to others.
"Naniniwala ako na ang husay at talino na hindi inalay sa bayan ay walang katuturan (I believe that skills and intelligence that are not offered to the country is irrelevant)", Mora shared.
The 50 students who received their awards will be marching in the 91st Commencement Exercises on July 2 and 3 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Pasay City.
