Eight programs of Far Eastern University (FEU) have gained certification from the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) after the program level assessment it administered.
The evaluation focused on each program's structure and learning approach, student assessment, staff quality, facilities, and quality enhancement.
According to FEU Vice President for Academic Development Dr. Myrna Quinto, granting these accreditations is a crucial step for the University’s internalization and standardization efforts.
Earlier this year, four of the programs were accredited by the network. These were Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Biology, and Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology.
FEU Academic Quality Assurance Director Aisa P. Arlos stated that the programs were credited for its compliance on the FEU Learning Outcomes and the student-centered learning (SCL) paradigm, and its well-designed and updated teaching and learning facilities.
Meanwhile, four more certificates were granted last May, recognizing its strengths, digital shift in program design, and adaptability to the new normal. Degrees in Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Bachelor of Arts in Communication, Bachelor of Secondary Education, and Bachelor of Elementary Education were added, totaling to eight.
To enhance the educational structure of the said programs, FEU has invested in facilities and infrastructures that aid in enriching its teaching and learning process. The University has also implemented employment coaching, job fairs, and career-oriented seminars to support the students' employability and future-oriented skills.
AUN-QA is a group of officers that establish educational standards in the Southeast Asia region. Currently, it has 140 associate institutions. 19 of these are in the country, continuously collaborating with international organizations to uphold quality higher education.
As of writing, FEU is preparing its application for the next program assessments in 2022.
